The Lord sits as King (Psalm 2:1-6)

The mutation of the new Covid has cast a shadow on the hearts of many people in the world. Children of God, be quiet in God’s inspiration, watch the present world in God’s inspiration, come to know God’s kingdom, come to hear God’s cry, and come to receive God’s blessing.

The dark world is coming together in commotion - to resist God and His anointed

Psalm 2:1-2 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed.

The world is evil, and all people are plotting falsehoods. Corrupt and degenerate people have become the mainstream. The power of evil is very strong. They band together to make false calculations and plunge the whole world into darkness. What are these people conspiring? They are conspiring against the Lord and against his anointed ones, 3 saying: ‘Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.’ They are opposing the church that the Lord Jesus has established on earth. They are opposing the children of the Lord, chosen by Christ on earth. They are opposing the ethical precepts and moral standards established in the Bible.

The king of heaven re-establishes His authority - laughs at the world and utters His wrath

What are the impacts on us when we see all these things happen? Would our heart sink down? Would our emotions become depressed? Would our faith become very fragile? How can we stand firm and stay strong? Look up to God, raise your head, and look up at the heavens. Because 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

The One who sits in heaven laughs. We, as children of God, should have this vision. By faith, we see the One sitting in heaven, who watches the fallen world, scoffing at them. He laughs at the nations who bite off more than they can chew. He laughs at the people on earth who plot in vain. He laughs at the kings and rulers on earth opposing the Lord, like drawing water with a bamboo basket - all in vain, like an ant trying to shake a big tree. He laughs at people in the world who are ungrateful and forget their origins. Without God's creation, how can human beings exist and develop?

God's scoff is a sneer, and what follows the scoff is rebuking and terrifying. 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, sayingWhile God rebukes and terrifies, He proclaims., “ 6I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” Zion is a place chosen by God and often a place of self-revelation. It is the place where God chose to deliver salvation. Facing a corrupt world, God proclaimed that He Himself had chosen Zion, where he had established a King who belongs to Him. He announced the coming of His own kingdom. He announced the kingdom in His reign. He announced His authority to reign over all things.

The pandemic is still prevailing, mutating, and continues to bring threats to people. People in the world will continue to fall and degenerate. What should we do? We have to believe in God's reproaches and wrath, trust in the King who will descend on Mount Zion sent by God, and look forward by faith to the day when the Lord Jesus Christ returns.
