HISTORY

Conception Period (1996 - 2001)

God planted His will into hearts of the leaders and congregants of our mother church - Dallas Chinese Bible Church (DCBC) long before we started the process of planting a church on the soil of Frisco. Between 1996 and 1997, DCBC issued a Mission Proclamation stating that the church will continue to emphasize 3 language ministries under one entity. When any one language congregation reaches 500 people, a new church will be planted in a neighboring area of Dallas.

Transition Period (2002 - 2005)

In 2001, a 5-year roadmap for the church plant was discussed and approved by church leaders. The church name given at the beginning was "DCBC at Frisco".

On Easter Sunday 2002, DCBC at Frisco conducted its first Sunday worship at Ruth Borchardt Elementary School in Plano.

In May 2004, a name change was adopted to Frisco Chinese Bible Church (FriscoCBC) and Frisco Chinese Bible Church was incorporated as a non-profit organization within the state of Texas. In January 2005, FriscoCBC was certified by the IRS to be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue code.

The Church Building Committee was established in April 2004 to physically start the church building project. The construction of the church building was started in October 2004.

Establishment (2006)

Beginning in 2006, FriscoCBC became an autonomous church having 3 pastors and a 10 member congregation-elected deacon board with about 140 congregants, and maintaining a sister church relationship with the mother church.

In July 2006, "Frisco Community Bible Church" was registered and is used as our "Assumed Name (or DBA)" so that our ministry can be more inclusive to the surrounding neighborhood and community. Both the official legal name and the Chinese names remain unchanged.

The new church building on 10 acres of land at 10055 Warren Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75035 was completed and ready for service in September 2006.
