We are experiencing one of the worst snowstorms that has faced Dallas. Many have lost water and electricity. In this time of difficulty, we can all rise up to the occasion and pursue the two greatest commandments that God gave us.
Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
Love God more than anything else in the world: The most important command God gave us is to love Him more than anything else. This snowstorm has reminded us how fragile our life here in this world is. Everything can be taken away in an instant but our relationship with God can never be taken away and that’s why we should love Him more than anything else in this world.
The best way to show our love to God is by obeying Him: John 14:15 says, “if you love me, obey my commandments.” Now that we know that the most important command is to love God more than anything else in this world, the best way we can express our love to God is through our obedience to Him. More than songs, words or sacrifices, God desires our obedience. Let us express our love to God by choosing to obey Him.
Love others as the second most important commandment: In this snowstorm or any difficult situation that we know people are facing, let us express our love to God by obeying His second most important command which is to love others as much as we love ourselves. Let us always find ways to help and support others because this is one of the best ways to express our love for God.
我們正經歷達拉斯最嚴重的暴風雪。許多人沒有水和電。在此困難時期，我們所有人都當起來，遵行上帝所賜的兩條最大誡命。
馬太福音22：37-40
37耶穌對他說：「你要盡心、盡性、盡意愛主─你的 神。38這是誡命中的第一，且是最大的。39其次也相倣，就是要愛人如己。40這兩條誡命是律法和先知一切道理的總綱。」
1. 愛神勝過世界上任何其他事物：上帝賜給我們最重要的命令是愛祂勝過一切。這場暴風雪使我們想起在世上的生命是何等脆弱，一切事物均可瞬間失去，但我們與上帝的關係卻永不能被奪走，這是為什麼我們當愛祂勝於世上萬物。
2. 愛神最好的表達方式是順服神：約翰福音14:15說：「你們若愛我，就必遵守我的命令。」既然我們知道最大的誡命是愛神勝過一切，向神表達我們對祂的愛最好的方法就是我們對祂的順服。神盼望我們順服，過於歌聲、言語或獻祭。讓我們選擇順服神來表達對祂的愛。
3. 愛人如己是第二重要的誡命：在這場暴風雪或其他所知的任何困難中，讓我們藉著順服神的第二條誡命─愛人如己─來表達對神的愛。讓我們時刻尋找方法來幫助或支持他人，因為這是表達我們對上帝的愛的最佳方法之一。
